The laboratory “Estimació del parc d’habitatges de la ciutat de Barcelona” aims to present the new methodology developed by the Observatori Metropolità de l’Habitatge de Barcelona (O-HB) and the Institut Metròpoli for estimating the housing stock of the city of Barcelona, as well as to compare its results with the main existing estimates.
The diversity of available sources (such as censuses, registries, the cadastre, or surveys) and the disparity of resulting figures have led the O-HB and the Institut Metròpoli to develop a methodology that provides the most robust and accurate estimate possible. This work gives rise to the first laboratory specifically focused on estimating Barcelona’s housing stock.
